Se han dado a conocer los nominados para una nueva edición de los Country Music Association Awards, los populares CMA. Por segunda vez en los último 4 años Maren Morris lidera las nominaciones con 6, en 2016 co-lideró con 5. Será la edición número 53 de los premios. Brothers Osborne tienen 4 y Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton y Carrie Underwood tiene 3.
El premio más importante del año, el de Entertainer of The Year tiene como nominados a Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood y Keith Urban. En el caso de Brooks es la edición número 13 en la que está nominado en esta categoría, solo por detrás del rey, George Strait, que tiene 19. Garth Brooks ha ganado este premio 6 veces, más que nadie. Por su parte Keith Urban consigue su nominación número 12 en esta categoría y empata con Alan Jackson en el tercer lugar.
La presentadora será Carrie Underwood con la ayuda de Dolly Parton y Reba McEntire. La gala se celebrará el 13 de noviembre.
