Se celebró una edición más de los MTV Video Music Awards, era el 40 aniversario de una cadena que en su día fue relevante, que hace 15 años que no lo es, pero que las discográficas utilizan para la promoción de sus artistas, en un no parar de actuaciones como si no hubiese un mañana.

Esta vez desde el Barclays Center en Brooklyn, Nueva York y con la presentación a cargo de Doja Cat, hasta 16 actuaciones nada más y nada menos, que ya están en YouTube, que no olvidemos es la razón principal de todo este despliegue.

Justin Bieber ganó dos premios incluido uno de los más importantes, el de Artista del Año. El otro grande el de vídeo del año fue a parar con merecimiento, algo que suele brillar por su ausencia en estos premios, a Montero de Lil Nas X. La artista revelación no podía ir a otra que no fuera Olivia Rodrigo, que ganó otros dos.

Rosalía se llevó un VMA gracias a su colaboración junto a Billie Eilish, en una categoría llamada Best Latin, pero en la que compiten Dua Lipa, The Black Eyed Peas o la propia Billie, porque claro, no hay música latina para dar y tomar.
