Hace ya algunos años los Beatles lanzaron dos monumentales cajas, The Beatles in mono y The Beatles in stereo, donde repasaban todos y cada uno de los discos del grupo, con temas extras, recopilatorios del momento en cuidadas ediciones remasterizadas. Las cajas se vendieron extraordinariamente bien para el precio que tenían. Ahora The Rolling Stones, la gran banda rival británica de la época, hace lo mismo con sus primeras grabaciones, en una caja de 15 CDs, The Rolling Stones in mono, que se lanzará el próximo 30 de septiembre en vinilo y CD, junto con una recopilación extra, llamada Stray cats.
La caja comienza con su primer disco de abril de 1964, y presenta además las ediciones americanas de sus discos. En esos años, las ediciones británicas y europeas de los discos no eran las mismas, los Beatles de hecho luego publicaron The Beatles US Albums. La recopilación Stray cats tienen caras B, rarezas del catálogo ABKCO y solo saldrá con esta caja, en la edición en vinilo son 2LPs.
Tanto en la versión CD como la versión de 180g en vinilo han sido cuidadosamente remasterizadas, dicen con una enorme fidelidad y desde las mismas fuentes en Mono. La caja finaliza con Let it bleed, su último trabajo lanzado el 5 de diciembre de 1969 y que oficialmente es su último trabajo grabado en mono, raro para esa fecha donde prácticamente todos los discos salían ya en stéreo.
